How can JavaScript be overloaded?

Functions in ECMAScript cannot be overloaded. However, two functions can be defined in the same scope with the same name without causing an error. However, the last function is actually used.

Copy to ClipboardReference: [www.bkjia.com] function doAdd (iNum)
{
Alert (iNum + 100 );
}

Function doAdd (iNum)
{
Alert (iNum + 10 );
}
DoAdd (10); // output 20 the code in this section shows 20, because the definition of the second function overwrites the first definition, but we can use the arguments object to avoid this restriction.

Code: Copy to ClipboardReference: [www.bkjia.com] function doAdd ()
{
If (arguments. length = 1)
{
Alert (arguments [0] + 10 );
} Else if (arguments. length = 2)
{
Alert (arguments [0] + arguments [1]);
}
}
DoAdd (10); // output 20
DoAdd (30,20); // output 50
