How SQL Server 2008 creates a recurring automatic backup task (i)

We know that the SQL Server database can be used to implement regular automatic backups of the database. The method is to create a plan to back up the database with a maintenance plan that comes with SQL Server 2008, and we share the methods of regular automatic backup of SQL Server 2008.

First, you need to start the SQL Server Agent service, which is unable to run the new job if it does not start, click "Start" – "All Programs" – "Microsoft SQL Server 2008" – "Start SQL Server Management Studio "Log in to the database, click Manage – Maintenance plan – Right-click the Maintenance Plan Wizard:

Click the Maintenance Plan Wizard to jump out of the dialog box:

Click "Next":

Fill in the name and relevant instructions to make a mark, click "Change" to set the maintenance plan:

Can be selected for the period of time, daily, weekly, monthly can be based on your corresponding needs to set up the backup time, here for a demonstration to choose at 0:00 every day, click "OK" and then "next":

Select the task you need to back up, I will choose "Back up the database (full, differential, transaction log)", very clear Click "Next":

There are three items that have just been selected you can select the order they are executed and click "Next" after selecting:

In the database that column select the relevant database click (OK) (because this picture is larger you can click on the image to view the original):

Select the backup database to store the directory, set up backup compression: There are default server settings, compression backup options, because my database is large, so I choose to compress, according to your actual situation: Click "Next", the following action is the "Maintenance task" action and "previous" that we selected before As it is not explained here, and finally click on "Next":

Select the location where the report files for the SQL SERVER 2008 Automatic Backup maintenance plan are stored click Next:

Click "Finish" to complete the SQL SERVER 2008 automatic backup.

Note: The SQL Server Agent service starts when you make a regular backup of the database with a maintenance plan for SQL Server 2008.
