1. Beat the keyboard to remove Sundries
When the desktop is disabled, remove the keyboard from the host, flip the keyboard down, Pat and shake it. It is best to spread an old newspaper on the desktop to facilitate cleaning. During the tapping process, the sundries in the keyboard will fall out, such as biscuit residue and hair.
When the notebook is flushed, it needs to be side up and must be gently flushed on the keyboard.
Playing and playing can alternate with each other. After two times, they can be more thorough.
2. Blow off sundries.
Use a hair dryer to aim at the gap on the keyboard key to blow away the debris attached to it, and then flip the keyboard down and shake it again.
3. Scrubbed the surface.
Use a soft cloth to dip the diluted detergent to scrub the surface of the button. Please note that the soft cloth cannot be too wet. Then, use the dust-absorbing brush of the vacuum to suck the keyboard again, so that you can suck out the residue.
4. Disinfect.
After the keyboard is scrubbed, dipped in alcohol, disinfectant, or medicinal hydrogen peroxide for disinfection, and then dry the keyboard surface with a dry cloth. In addition, if you use alcohol to protect your computer, it is likely to corrode the protection layer on the keyboard surface while eliminating viruses and sterilization, reducing its sensitivity.
The methods summarized above are some common methods found on the Internet.
Take the most common electric contact keyboard as an example to introduce the whole process of keyboard disassembly, cleaning, and installation.
Step 1: Unplug the keyboard connector
Turn off the power of the computer, and then unplug the keyboard connector (generally the keyboard connector of the PS/2 interface is purple) from the host. Flip one side of the keyboard and pat it gently so that dust and debris can automatically fall.
Step 2: Remove the keyboard shell
There are usually a large number of fixed screws on the back of the keyboard. Push the cross screwdrivers into the fixed screw position and rotate them counterclockwise to unscrew them. Unscrew other fixed screws one by one, and place the screws in a unified manner.
Move the front of the keyboard down, and open the joint of the rear panel with a flat screw to remove the shell easily. Then you can see the internal structure of the keyboard.
Step 3: Clean the film
When you open the rear panel of the keyboard, you can see the layer-3 film embedded on the baseboard. The three-layer films are respectively the lower contact layer, the middle isolation layer and the upper contact layer. The upper and lower contact layers are pressed with metal circuit connections and circular metal contacts corresponding to the buttons, the middle isolation layer is a transparent film with a circular hole corresponding to the upper and lower contact layers. Remove the film from the keyboard, and gently brush the dust or dirt near the button with a dry cloth or brush. You can also wipe the film with water and then dry it. If there is oxidation in the circular metal contacts of the film, you need to use an eraser to clean it.
Step 4: Clean the buttons
All the buttons on the keyboard are embedded on the front panel. There is a rubber pad between the three-layer film on the bottom panel and the buttons on the front panel. The protruding part of the rubber pad corresponds to the buttons embedded on the front panel, after pressing the button, the protruding part of the rubber pad is concave downward, so that the circular metal contacts of the upper and lower contact layers of the film are in contact with the circular hole of the middle isolation layer, thus sending the button signal.
However, when removing the button, you must first remove the rubber pad, and then use a screwdriver or another screwdriver to pull the button from the bottom. However, you should note that there will be a metal bar on some big buttons (such as Shift, space key, and Enter), which is mainly used to fix the buttons, therefore, be careful when selecting this button. However, you must remember the position of the key on the keyboard when removing the key. Otherwise, you will not be reminded when the key cannot be installed. After removing all the buttons and rubber pads, you can wipe them with a wet cloth and dry them. If the buttons are dirty, you can also use some cleaner to scrub them.
Step 6: clean the inside and outside of the keyboard
Remove the circuit board from the base, and then use a brush or wet cloth to wipe the front panel, back panel, and base of the keyboard. Especially in the front panel and the seams of the buttons, there will be a lot of dirty things to gather, and it may not be easy to clean with a wet cloth. We recommend that you clean with cleaner.
Step 7: install the keyboard
After cleaning the buttons, rubber pads, films, and panels and drying them, you can install them. First, install all the buttons according to the reverse method of the previous disassembly.
