Shell also has a real debugging mode. If an error occurs in the script "strangescript", you can debug it as follows:
Sh-x strangescript
This will execute the script and display the values of all variables.
Shell also has a mode that only checks the syntax without executing the script. It can be used as follows:
Sh-n your_script
This will return all syntax errors.
Linux/unix shell l script debugging method
Shell provides some options for script debugging, as shown below:
-N
Read the commands in the script but do not execute them. It is used to check the syntax errors in the script.
-V
Execute the script and print the executed script command to the standard error output.
-X
Provides trace execution information to print each command and result in sequence.
There are three methods to use these options. One is to provide parameters in the command line.
$ Sh-x./script. sh 2. Provide parameters at the beginning of the script
#! /Bin/sh-x the third method is to use the set command in the script to enable or disable parameters.
Copy codeThe Code is as follows :#! /Bin/sh
If [-z "$1"]; then
Set-x
Echo "ERROR: Insufficient Args ."
Exit 1
Set + x
Fiset-x and set + x indicate enable and disable the-x parameter, respectively, so that you can trace and debug only a part of the script.
