How to share files between Windows, MAC, and Linux through the network
Sharing family files once had a nightmare, even in different Windows versions-not even considering Mac and Linux! But now these operating systems can communicate with each other and share files without special software.

Share folders on Windows
Since other operating systems do not have access to the home group, you need to enable old-fashioned Windows file sharing. To do this, open the control panel and go to network and sharing> change advanced sharing settings. Enable network discovery and file and print sharing ".
If you want to access the shared folder without a password, you need to fine-tune other options.
Find the folder you want to share in Windows Explorer or File Explorer, right-click it, and select Properties. Click the share tag and use the options to share and configure folder permissions.
Access shared folders on Windows
Access the network panel in Windows Explorer or File Explorer to browse files shared by other computers. You will see that the correctly configured Mac and Linux computers appear near the Windows PC. Double-click a computer to view its shared files.
If you know the computer name or IP address, you can also directly connect to this computer, just enter \ computing name in Windows Explorer or File Explorer and press Enter. If you want to connect directly through an IP address, you only need to replace the computer name with an IP address.
