After git download source code, you need to generate Eclipse project's metadata file to successfully import, So run step import-into-eclipse.bat, with the hint that you can see the call to Gradlew.bat, which has a row

Set gradle_opts=-xx:maxmetaspacesize=1024m -xmx1024m-xx:maxheapsize=256m%gradle_opts%

Where Maxmetaspacesize needs JDK8 support, either remove this parameter or upgrade to JDK8.
