How to install Ubuntu 7.10 On a hard disk on a Windows system
1) download the ISO 7.10 file: http://releases.ubuntu.com/gutsy/ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso from ubuntu (account: ubuntu, password: ubuntu FTP)
2) decompress the downloaded boot file and copy the decompressed boot folder, grldr file, and menu. lst file to the C root directory.
3) Open the boot. ini file under the root directory of the C drive, and add a line of c: \ grldr = "Ubuntu Linux" at the end. The boot.ini.txt file can be decompressed using the boot file.
4) create a folder under any root directory, rename it gutsy, put the downloaded ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso into the gutsy folder
5) restart your computer and select "Ubuntu Linux" for installation. For Ubuntu installation, refer to other information on this site.
