In Linux, yum installs GCC on a CD

1. My Linux system is RedHat Enterprise Edition (provided to me when I went to the computer city with a computer). I found it was unavailable when I used Yum install GCC.

I am still a newbie, so I don't know why. Some people on the Internet say that Yum of the Enterprise Edition is not registered, and thus cannot be used.

No way, I can only install it from the CD.

[A]. First, attach the CD to insert your Linux CD into your computer.

[B]. Modify the yum Configuration

The first one should be the default one. I am not very clear about it. Open with vi

Modify the baseurl to the Mount location of your CD, set enabled to 1 (previously 0), and comment out the previous baseurl.

[C]. Then you can install it through Yum install GCC.

Some dependencies will be asked during the installation process, and you can select y for all.

If there is still a problem, you can give the first default configuration of Step B to the MV to another place, so that the default configuration will not be read.
