Eclipse is so good that I can freely select the required functions, but it is really troublesome for me to manually download, install, and configure everything. I like to do it myself, and I am willing to record my 10 hours of hard work experience and share it with them.
1. Download the plug-in
The official website provides some plug-ins for download. We can find plug-ins such as CDT and PDDE. So far, I can find all the functions I need except for eclipe UML. In addition, maybe I am using Microsoft tools or like the official stuff.
The right side of the page contains popular projects, which lists 10 commonly used plug-ins for convenience. However, I still like the search methods by project and by topic.
Apart from the official website, eclipse plugin Central is also a good choice. I learned that apart from eclipseuml, there are so many UML plug-ins that can be integrated into eclipse.
If your machine has installed flashget, file downloading may be incorrect. If this happens, you only need to configure flashget. Click option to go to The flashget configuration. Click monitor to view the following page. deselect Internet Explorer in browser clicks. Everything is back to normal. However, if you want to use the point link direct download function on other pages, set it back.
2. Install the plug-in
After downloading the zip package to your local computer, decompress it to the eclipse folder. After restarting eclipse, you can see the manage configuration. If the status of the new plug-in is disabled, you only need enable. Of course, to enable a plug-in, you have installed other plug-ins required to run the plug-in.
When we download a plug-in from the official website, the download link contains instructions for building dependencies. You can download the plug-in one by one, which is convenient and considerate. I noticed this part of content after wasting more than N times. I am tired!
3. Uninstall the plug-in
My uninstall function has been unavailable. According to the instructions in the official documentation, only the plug-in added through update manager can be uninstalled. Is that true?
Uninstalling a feature: Features that you have installed using the update manager can be uninstalled, provided they are already disabled, or that they are optional or root features. If the feature is disabled, make sureShow disabled featuresIs turned on in the tool bar. Select the feature and clickUninstallIn the right page of the dialog.
4. Plug-in management
In eclipse 3.22, I directly installed all the plug-ins in the default folder. Of course, if I want to uninstall a plug-in and have to manually delete files one by one, I found it too troublesome to manage it, so I noticed the add an extension location function.
I have created two folders for storing plug-ins: _ ext and _ omondo, which are used to store the official plug-ins and the eclipse UML plug-ins of omondo respectively. If the selected extension location does not meet the requirements, the following error message is displayed:
Selected location does not contain a product extension. An extension shocould consist of a directory named eclipse, which contains a marker file called. eclipseextension and the features and plugins folders. Please Selecte another location.
Eclipse \ features and eclipse \ plugins files are well established, but how do I create a file named. eclipseextension?
You cannot create an empty text file before renaming it because the system prompts "you must type a file name .".
Do you still remember the DOS command? Enter the command line mode, and use the Ren "new text document.txt". eclipseextension command to try ?! (I use 2003 in English, so the prompt message is in English. The default file name is also in English)
5. Installation history
When there are too many plug-ins installed, no one can remember when a plug-in is installed. Fortunately, eclipse provides the view installation history function. You can feel a sense of accomplishment when you look at a long string of plug-ins. Haha!
6. UML plug-in
I am now using omondo's eclipse UML Free Edition for eclipse 3.3. I tested the two-way engineering function briefly and it is okay. It is too slow, ah! Class digoal, sequence digoal, and object digoal are all used. The figure is pretty much better than Rose! That is, sequence digoal is not very easy to use. You have to find a time to study and determine whether the code can be generated based on the figure (this is basically difficult, huh, huh)
