That is because some folders in the eclipse-jee-indigo-sr2-linux-gtk.tar.gz package are created by the root permission, so you also need to use the root permission during decompression, then you need to use the sudo tar-zxvf eclipse-jee-indigo-SR2-linux-gtk.tar.gz command for decompression; if you log on to the system as a root user, simply extract the package.
3. Go to the/opt/Eclipse/directory and double-click eclipse. Eclipse is started !!
Create a desktop shortcut for eclipse
