VSS Installation
1. Install the VSS server
Install vss6.0d on the server, after installation, in the server directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual studio\common\ VSS has a NETSETUP.EXE file that shares this directory, and the client executes the NETSETUP.EXE file to install it.
2. Create a source control database
2-1. On the server side, first create a source control database to store the servers version of your development team's shared files. Create a shared network folder for the source control database. In the source control server, open Windows Explorer and create a new folder named Test.
2-2. Right-click "Test", then "Properties".
2-3. In the Test Properties dialog box, click the Sharing tab, and then click Share this folder. You can now create a source control database in the shared test.
3. Create a Source control database
3-1. On the server, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, and then click Visual SourceSafe 6.0 Admin.
3-2. On the Tools menu of the Visual SourceSafe Administrator dialog box, click Create Database.
3-3. In the Create new VSS Database in box, locate the "test" directory created above
3-4. Visual Studio. NET's source control database has been successfully set up. Then add users, that is, the development team to assign an account, the future to open the database to be authenticated.
3. Install the VSS client from the network
3-1. Locate the VSS server's VSS corresponding directory file NETSETUP.EXE
