(the document is relatively long, just write the details, the actual operation is relatively simple.) )
For some special reasons, we are not able to completely abandon windows and use Linux.
VirtualBox is a virtual machine software that supports multiple systems.
After installing VirtualBox under Linux, we can install the Windows system and use the software under Windows.
1. Download
First you need to download the VirtualBox:
Click VirtualBox 3.2.8 for Linux hosts to jump to the Linux version of the download page.
Or go directly to the download page on the Linux version of the following address:
Then download it according to the specific version of your Linux.
2. Installation
If it is an Ubuntu system, after the download is a Deb installation package, directly double-click the installation.
Other systems are installed using the corresponding installation method.
If the system already has an earlier version of VirtualBox installed, it is possible that the installation conflict could not be installed.
You need to uninstall the version of the software before installing it.
Type the following command to uninstall VirtualBox:
$sudo Apt-get Autoremove virtualbox-3.0
If your machine is not installed in the virtualbox-3.0 version, you can enter VirtualBox and press TAB to make the system complete automatically.
3. Operation
You can start VirtualBox by typing VirtualBox at the command line.
The command is actually a link, and the link file is the VBox file in the directory where the file is located.
Start with a command window, close the window, and then close the program.
You can drag the/usr/bin/virtualbox file to the system panel, and then click on the icon on the panel to launch it.
You can use/usr/share/pixmaps/vbox.png as an icon file.
command for/usr/bin/virtualbox, and then a random name on it.
4. New
Click the new icon, or the new menu item, control, to bring up the new Virtual PC Wizard. Click Next.
In the Name text box, give the virtual computer a name. Select the operating system and version, next.
Adjust the virtual memory, set the memory size to a suitable location, usually about One-fourth of the system memory can be. Next.
Select Boot hard disk and create a new RAMDisk, next. Next.
If you use Ghost file installation, choose a fixed size, otherwise choose dynamic extension on it,
The creation of a fixed-size virtual hard disk will take more time, and the dynamic extension is fast, next.
Select the location where you want to save the virtual hard disk, usually without changing it. Adjust the virtual hard disk size, next. Complete.
Then click Finish, the virtual computer is ready to be built.
5. Setting
Select the new virtual computer and click the Settings icon to set it up.
1) Boot order settings
First, you need to set the boot order, so that the CD-ROM drive boot before the hard drive, the general does not have to change, confirm that you can:
System, motherboard, boot sequence: both the optical drive and the hard drive are selected and the optical drive is on top of the hard drive.
2) Disc File settings
Second, prepare the Windows virtual disc file and insert it into the virtual computer:
Media, virtual CD-ROM, click on the right side of the triangle icon, registration, select your own prepared virtual disc file
Options. In this way, the virtual disc is inserted into the virtual computer. When the virtual computer starts, the disc file is loaded.
3) Data Space settings
Also set up a data space for the physical machine to share and exchange data with the virtual computer:
Data space, click the plus icon on the right
Data Space Location: Select a folder to swap files with
Data space Name: a name
Read-only assignment: In the box, the virtual computer will be read-only.
Ok
Click OK again, the basic is set up well.
If you are installing WINDOWS7, using the default sound card type, you may not find the audio device after you enter the system.
You can modify the sound card type to PulseAudio, or other.
In addition, the setting must be in a state where the virtual computer is turned off. In the startup state, the settings item is not available.
After the system is installed, you can also turn off the virtual system and then modify the settings.
6. Start
Select the new virtual computer and click the Start icon to start.
Startup will start the contents of the virtual disc, which is the Windows Installer.
It is the same as the real-machine installation operating system.
If the ghost file is installed by Ghost installation, run Fdisk to format it before running Ghost.
If installing ghost automatically fails to install, you can try to install it manually.
7. Sharing
After the Windows installation succeeds, there are some settings you need to make to access the files on the physical computer from the virtual computer.
In the Startup Virtual PC Window menu, do the following:
Installation enhancements---all the way to the next step.
The installation enhancements are actually loading a virtual disc called Vboxguestadditions.iso, provided by the software.
So, if you click Install enhancements, there is no popup installation interface, you can go to my computer's CD-ROM drive to manually run.
After installation and reboot, browse through folders, such as My Computer, right-click mapped network drives, and so on
Network Neighborhood VirtualBox Shared Folders-\\Vboxsvr
-\\vboxsvr\< The data space name that you just created > OK.
You can do it by clicking on it.
If the Linux operating system is installed in the virtual computer, you need to run the autorun.sh file on the virtual CD.
To run in the terminal, when prompted to click Return to exit the window, press ENTER on the keyboard, and then restart the system.
Then run the following command to attach the shared directory to the virtual Linux:
$sudo Mkdir/opt/vboxdata
$sudo mount-t vboxsf Data/opt/vboxdata
The first sentence is used to create a folder in Linux.
The second sentence is used to hook up the shared directory with the created folder. The command format is:
$mount-T vboxsf <data space name> <local link folder name>
The data of the second sentence is the name of the database space that is configured, not case sensitive.
8. Backup
A virtual hard disk is a file with a suffix of VDI.
If you have two different machines, just copy the file and add it to VirtualBox.
If you run the following command under the same machine, a new virtual hard disk will be copied:
$VBoxManage Clonehd <source VDI file name> <target VDI file name>
Two virtual systems copied by command can be loaded into VirtualBox at the same time
9. Other
The VirtualBox has full-screen mode and seamless mode, and the shortcut keys are host+f and host+l respectively.
Here the Host key is a custom shortcut key, if not modified, it is the right Ctrl key.
Can be modified as follows: admin--Global Settings Hotkey--Hotkey: Press the key you want to set as the hotkey.
There is a limit to the setting of hotkeys, numbers, cursors, and edit keys cannot be set as hotkeys.
In full-screen and seamless mode, press Host+home to invoke the system menu for controlling the Virtual PC. --This article turns from: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_65b9c1590100kzp2.html--Note: Windows under the virtual machine inside the things can be exported, imported into Linux under the virtual machine installed, Virtual machine test, such as virtual machines installed under WINDOWX, can be exported and imported into a virtual machine installed under Linux. I also have access to the virtual computer test in a virtual machine in Linux.
