Gartner, an authoritative Research Institute, recently pointed out that installing Windows on Mac computers will not bring viruses to Mac systems.
According to Reuters, Gartner Vice President of Research Michael Silver said IT administrators do not have to worry about installing Windows operating systems will cause more viruses on Mac computers. "All Apple users don't have to worry, and Mac software will be installed in different file systems in another partition," said Silver. Therefore, running Windows won't provoke more viruses ."
Apple recently released the Boot Camp software to allow Windows XP to be installed on a new Mac computer based on Intel processor. But Silver also pointed out that if the Boot Camp software can attract more users and make Mac platforms increasingly popular, Mac OS X will become a potential target of hackers.
However, Gartner believes that the Boot Camp software will not greatly promote the popularization of Mac computers. Gartner said: "Apart from Apple's traditional market, Boot Camp will not attract more enterprise users to a large extent ."
