What is a Linux Shell
A shell is a user program, or an environment that is provided for the user to interact with the system.
It is a language interpreter that executes commands that are read from a standard input device, has its own built-in shell command set, and the shell can be called by other applications in the system.
The shell will run when you log in or open the console.
The shell is not part of the system kernel, but it uses the system kernel to execute programs, create files, and so on.
2. How to access the shell
Terminal, secure SSH connection, use console.
3. Under the shell, you can use the following key combinations to edit and callback commands.
Ctrl+w: Deletes the word before the cursor position.
Ctrl+u: Empty Line
↑,↓ arrow key: View History command history.
Tab: Auto-complete file name, directory name, command name, and so on.
Ctrl+r: Search for previously used commands
CTRL + C: Abort the current command
Ctrl+d: Exit Login Shell
Esc+t: Two words before swapping the cursor
