Linux Kernel 2.6.25 was officially released-general Linux technology-Linux programming and kernel information. The following is a detailed description. On June 23, April 23, Linux expert Linus Torvalds said in his blog on Wednesday that Linux kernel 2.6.25 has been publicly released. The kernel of this version modifies features such as WiFi support, file system management, and virtualization.

Torvalds wrote in the official Linux kernel news that this is a long-term commitment. Now it is released.

It took 10 weeks to develop the Linux kernel, which is several weeks longer than most previous kernel upgrades. The latest 2.6 series kernel modifications include modifications to at least 9 million lines of code in the 1 million-line code library.

Linux Wi-Fi support was significantly modified from the 2.6.24 kernel. The latest 2.6.25 kernel was further modified, and more hardware drivers were added to the kernel. At the user's requirement, the new kernel adds the Ath5k driver that supports chips produced by Atheros.

The CFS (fully fair Scheduler) has upgraded its performance since the first kernel version 2.6.23 and 2.6.24. The Linux kernel version 2.6.25 is also upgraded to replace the Ext3 Ext4 file system and increase the supported block specifications from 4 K to 64 K. Although the Ext4 file system has made progress, developers still need to make a few modifications.

The increasing popularity of virtualization among Linux users has led to modifications to the KVM x86 simulator, and more files have been added to make it easier for users to use it.

The official kernel modification directory records all modifications made between linux kernels 2.6.24 and 2.6.25. Version 2.6.24 is a 12 Mb patch, and the change directory is a 7.5MB file.
