Linux system dual NIC binding:
Be sure to back up the configuration file before you do a dual NIC binding!
Linux system NIC configuration file location:
Cd/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
CP Ifcfg-eth0 IFCFG-BOND0
For example, we need to bind the NIC is ifcfg-eth0 corresponding eth0
Ifcfg-eth1 corresponds to eth1 these two network cards!
#vi ifcfg-bond0
There are four places to change:
1. Device Name:
Device=bond0
2, configure IP address, mask, gateway and other information:
ipaddr=1.1.1.1
netmask=255.255.255.0
gateway=1.1.1.254
3, modify the Onboot=yes
Bootproto=none
4. Remove UUID, HWADDR
#vi ifcfg-eth1
#viifcfg-eth0
1. Remove UUID, HWADDR
2. Add
Master=bond0
Slave=yes
Edit /etc/modprobe.d/dist.conf
at the bottom of the file, add the following 2 Line
Alias Bond0 Bonding
Options Bond0 miimon=100 mode=1
mode=0 represents load Balancing (round-robin) for load balancing, both NICs work.
mode=1 represents fault-tolerance (active-backup) provides redundancy, working in a way that the primary and standby work , This means that by default only one NIC works , another piece to do backup .
