Most people now have little computers in their homes, most of them using smartphones or tablets, chatting, video or playing games. There is a home that can use Wi-Fi via a "broadband router", but in a flat, how do you surf the Internet with your phone or tablet? This article describes the method of using WiFi access in units, mobile phones or tablets.
Overall, if the use of the unit's network, so that mobile phones using WiFi access, there are two ways: Install a "broadband router" or use the wireless network card as the AP, but because of the different units, there may be different requirements and restrictions, the following for these situations are introduced. 1 installing broadband routers in the office
If you want more stable wireless access, and you need to provide access to more than one person, you can choose the "broadband router" to provide WiFi access. 1.1 The broadband router when the wireless switch use-unit access mode for dynamic access to IP address
For most offices, the unit's computer is connected to the unit switch via the RJ45 cable to access the network, and the computer is set to "Automatically obtain IP address" and "Automatically obtain DNS address", which can be used as "broadband router" when "switch" use, Connect the network cable from the original computer to the LAN port on the router, and then make a network cable to connect the computer to the LAN port of the router (typically, the home broadband router has 4 LAN ports, 1 WAN ports), and the connection method is shown in Figure 1-1.
Figure 1-1 Router when switch is used
Broadband router settings: The LAN port for the broadband router to assign a current LAN does not use the address, and turn off the router's DHCP function, set the broadband router SSID and connection password.
Usage: The computer is still used as it was. Access to a broadband router via WiFi-connected devices. 1.2 Unit access mode for static IP or PPPoE dial-up Internet
If your unit is using a static IP address, or if you need to use PPPoE for dial-up access, you will need to connect your computer to a network cable, to the WAN (WAN or Internet) port on your router, and to the LAN port.
Router settings: Set up "Use static IP address" for the router's WAN port and set the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS that you set up on your computer, set up a different network segment for the router, and enable the DHCP function of the router. Assigns IP addresses and DNS to the devices that are connected to it. If the unit is a PPPoE dial-up Internet connection, select "PPPoE dial-up" and enter the account name and password.
The original computer connects to the router's LAN port, setting "Automatically obtain IP address and DNS address", and mobile phones and other WiFi-connected devices to connect to the broadband router.
Small knowledge: How to know your unit LAN use of the network section. The person who directly asks the information center is the most accurate, if you are not convenient to ask, you can use the tracert command at the command prompt to view the route from your current computer to the Internet (find the first public network address), as shown in Figure 1-2, which is the routing situation in an organization.
Figure 1-2 using the tracert command
As you can see from the route, the unit uses the 172.30.5.0, 192.168.0.0, and 10.10.10.0 segments, and you can use the 10.20.20.0 segment.
Of course, if your computer just accesses the Internet and does not have access to other segments within your organization, you only need to set up an address segment that is different from your current network segment. For example, your computer uses a 192.168.4.0/24 network segment, your other floors use 192.168.5.0/24 network segment, you can also for your router LAN port planning 192.168.5.254 address, this is also possible. 1.3 Through the third party certification software online
If the unit computer has a third party certified software installed, and limit "single sign-on", where an account can only log on once (one account per person), or if the Third-party authentication software restricts Internet Connection Sharing, you need to find a computer to use as a proxy server, as shown in Figure 1-3.
Figure 1-3 Installing Windows 2003 Server
Now some dial-up-certified software detects that the computer has Internet Connection Sharing enabled (after detection prompts and disconnects the network, as shown in Figure 1-4), but does not detect some normal services on the computer, such as Windows Server 2003, Windows Server The "Routing and Remote Access service" in 2008. This is the basis of our problem solving.
In this scenario, you need to add a computer that is not configured to be too high, has 256M of memory, 20GB of hard disk space, but requires two network adapters to install Windows Server 2003 on this computer. If you don't have any extra computers, you can use a virtual machine (described later in this article).
(1) Install Windows Server 2003 on the newly added computer, after the system is installed, one of the network cards connects the original network cable, renames the network card as "WAN", and the other network card connects the LAN port of the broadband router, then name this NIC "LAN".
(2) Set the IP address of the WAN network card.
Suppose your original computer address is 192.168.8.15, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and the gateway is 192.168.8.254. If you are getting IP address automatically, perform ipconfig/all in the command window to view the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and then set a "back" or "front" address. For example, the IP address you automatically obtain is 192.168.8.15, you can set a 192.168.8.100 address, so that you do not conflict with others. And if you get an address that is 192.168.8.240, you can set a 192.168.8.15 or 192.168.8.20 address. Because, if your network DHCP server, some IP address is "from small to large" distribution, and some "from the big to the smallest" distribution. If you set an IP address that prompts a conflict, you can set another address.
(3) Set the address of another network segment for LAN NIC, and finally do not conflict with other address segments in the LAN. For example, your LAN uses 192.168.x.x network segments, and you can assign 10.10.10.254/24 addresses to your LAN.
(4) Enable the Routing and Remote Access service to configure the NAT feature.
(5) Configure the broadband router, set the 10.10.10.253/24 IP address for the broadband router, and modify the router's DHCP server to set the gateway address to 10.10.10.254.
Figure 1-Setting the DHCP server's starting address and gateway and DNS
(6) Configure the router's wireless settings and set the connection password, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1-Setting up the Router connection password
(7) The original computer access to the router's LAN port, the computer is set to "Automatically obtain IP address and DNS address" can be. Mobile phones, flat-panel access routers can access the Internet.
"description" of this way of access, still does not avoid the unit "real name Authentication", just access to the router's phone, the computer is used by the Windows Server 2003 computer on the Dial-up software is bound to the account. 2 Add a wireless card to the computer to act as an AP
If you are only in "small scope" for mobile phones, tablets through the "WiFi" internet, you can add a wireless network card on your computer, and then "analog" to the AP, an access point, and then enable "Internet Connection Sharing." If you are using a notebook to use RJ45 to access the LAN, you can use the wireless card directly on your notebook. 2.1 Using Internet Connection Sharing
If your computer is directly connected to the Internet (dynamic or static IP address), or if you use PPPoE or Third-party authentication software, but do not restrict or detect Internet Connection Sharing, you can add and use the wireless network card as a soft AP and enable the computer's Internet Connection Sharing. In this case, the network topology is shown in Figure 2-1.
Figure 2-1 Installing the wireless network card when AP
Now the newly purchased wireless network card can simulate AP function and can automatically configure Internet Connection Sharing, the following is an example of a wireless network card, the host operating system is Windows 7.
(1) Insert the wireless network card in the computer, then run the Wireless Card Setup program, install the client application and the driver, as shown in Figure 2-2.
Figure 2-2 Running the wireless network card Setup program
(2) After installing the driver and application software, on the Advanced tab, select Open in the SOFTAP mode option group to enable the software AP mode, as shown in Figure 2-3.
Figure 2-3 Starting the software AP approach
(3) on the "Analog AP" tab, you can see that the softaps mode is on and then select Local Area Connection in the Internet Connection Sharing Drop-down list, which will share the Internet connection through the host wired network card, and do not select wireless network connection (This is the wireless network card that simulates AP, at this time through this wireless card is unable to connect to the Internet), modifies the SSID name of the analog software AP at "Network Name", defaults to Softap, sets the connection password in "The security key", defaults to 12345678, then clicks "Apply" button to complete the setting, as shown in Figure 2-4.
Figure 2-4 Setting the software AP complete
(4) After the software AP is enabled, in Control Panel → Network and internet→ network connections, you can see three connections, one of which is a "Local Area Connection" network card that connects to the RJ45 network, one is "Wireless network Connection" (This is the wireless card), and the other is "Wireless network connection 2", This is the connection that simulates the software AP, as shown in Figure 2-5.
Figure 2-5 Local Area Connection
Then let the phone, tablet or computer using the wireless card, open the WiFi search and connect to the wireless network named Softap (shown in Figure 2-6) and enter the connection password (shown in Figure 2-7) to access the Internet through the computer, which is not introduced.
Figure 2-5 Select Softap Wireless network figure 2-6 Input Connection Password 2.2 Configure virtual machines in host
If your organization's certification software restricts Internet Connection Sharing, you will need to use a similar "1.3 through Third-party certification software" approach to the Internet. But in order to share the Internet, the new addition of a computer is not realistic, you can adopt the way of virtual machines. The network topology is shown in Figure 2-7.
Figure 2-7 using the virtual machine approach
Principle: When the host is connected to the Internet, the virtual machine in the VMware workstation, when configured as a NAT network card, the virtual machine can access the Internet. Connect the USB wireless card to the virtual machine, and configure the wireless card as AP, so that the device can be connected with the mobile phone.
The main setup steps are as follows.
(1) Install VMware Workstation 10 virtual machines on the host computer, create Windows XP virtual machines, and use the NAT network card for the virtual Machine network card, as shown in Figure 2-8.
Figure 2-8 Creating an XP virtual machine
(2) After installing the Windows XP operating system in the virtual machine, install VMware Tools after installation.
(3) After the virtual machine, plug in the USB wireless network card. If the wireless network card is already connected to the computer, in the virtual machine settings, disconnect the wireless card from the host and connect to the virtual machine.
(4) Then install the wireless network card in the virtual machine, and configure the network card to simulate the AP.
