With the advent of the big data cloud computing era, Oracle service providers need to focus on improving the core competitiveness of O & M services in order to promote further development of O & M outsourcing.
1. Data Security
Data security is the first priority. Oracle service providers must ensure that data is not lost and data is lost!
1) In case of human error (update, insert, delete, drop, alter), the data can be restored to the correct state. Backup is primarily used to ensure that replication is disaster tolerant, but not fault-tolerant (of course, delayed backup is acceptable to a certain extent ).

With the highest security level of Database hardware and software settings and redundant devices, the goal is not to lose any transaction, because even one transaction may cause a large amount of money loss, while also causing a decline in corporate reputation.
4) you also need to ensure the consistency of the master and slave databases. Otherwise, data is still lost in the case of read/write splitting.
2. No fault (downtime)
O & M is different from development. The most important thing in development is to implement functions with a certain efficiency, while there are few program bugs. O & M refers to the time when stable services are provided. The term is 9. The specific meaning is that the annual unavailable (active or passive) time is divided by the annual time. The higher the percentage, the better (basic availability: 2 9; high Availability: 3 9; availability with automatic fault recovery capability: 4 9; extremely high availability: 5 9 ). The highest level of Oracle O & M services is of course five to nine, with a downtime of only five minutes a year. This is rather difficult to achieve. A major failure will often exhaust the downtime for the whole year.
In most cases, website availability is an important metric in SLA (Service Level Agreement. For third-party hosting, it is necessary to clarify the third-party O & M service capabilities and responsibilities. Otherwise, the IDC often loses power or network disconnection, and even if it is doing well, it cannot guarantee the service time.
However, availability is something that can be continuously improved, and the O & M owner cannot go to the sky in one step. Some common policies for improving availability include eliminating spof and deploying redundant devices. If we want to provide higher availability, such as 4 to 9 or even 5 to 9, we will not simply rely on hardware, but also need to establish automated tools and platforms, perfect Process System and change mechanism, 24x7 dedicated personnel on duty, etc.
3. Response Time
The response time refers to the time from when a query or update statement sends a request to when data is received. Because of the uncertainty and non-repeatability of the maximum response time, the query response time of X % is generally used as an indicator. If the value is 95% and 10 ms, it means that 95% of queries will be returned within 10 ms. For OLTP queries, it is ideal to return results within 50 ms. A query that exceeds ms can be considered as a slow query.
4. Cost
After the stability and speed are solved, the cost is solved. The cost mainly consists of hardware cost + software cost + labor cost. Because Internet enterprise software is mainly developed independently and open source, hardware and labor cost are the main factors, the hardware cost also includes the rack, bandwidth, and power cost of the data center. The mission of Oracle O & M constructor is not just to "complete" The function. If there are 50 methods to complete the function, at least several of the better methods should be found and the final choice should be made. Therefore, Oracle service providers need to improve hardware usage efficiency, reduce manual O & M costs, and increase per capita output.
