Practice ArcGIS Web 3D

Many users of the ArcGIS product family have been waiting for the Web 3D function for a long time. Starting from ArcGIS 10.3.1, Esri has made a big move to develop the Web 3D function, finally, I don't have to hide my face. So how can we create and release 3D scenarios? Next we will record the test process today.

1First, make sure that your environment meets system requirements. This is one of the most important and non-negligible conditions. For more information, see the following documents:

2. ArcGIS Scene Service is a new type of Web Service, which comes from ArcGIS Pro and requires the creation and release of Scene ServiceArcGIS Pro is 1.1 or later. That is to say, the traditional ArcGIS for Desktop cannot create and publish Scene services.

3. SlaveArcGIS for Server 10.3.1The support for Scene Service is started. That is, the earlier version 10.3 is not acceptable. To publish 3D data (Multipatch) and 2D data as the hosting scene layers in the portal,Necessary installation components include Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Data Store.. ArcGIS Data Store is used to Store the Scene layer slicing cache used in Scene Service.

4Associate ArcGIS Server with the portal, and designate ArcGIS Server as the managed Server of the portal.

Create and publish Scene Service

1. Open ArcGIS Pro, create a scenario, and add the scenario data. The building model is the Multipatch Feature Class in File Geodatabase.

2. Ensure that the Portal is connected and activated, and your account has permissions to create content, publish managed elements, and publish managed scenarios.

> Note: currently, only the Portal for ArcGIS supports the release of the Scene Service for the Multipatch data source. ArcGIS Online is not supported currently. If your ArcGIS Pro is a 60-day trial version, the activated Portal is ArcGIS Online by default, and you need to add and switch to an available Portal.

3. Make sure that the scenario in ArcGIS Pro is opened in Global View. You can also switch between Local views.

 

4. Share the scenario and analyze the service to ensure there is no Error. If yes, you need to fix it in advance.

5. Wait until the task is completed. Make sure all tasks in the Job directory are successfully completed.

Depending on the amount of data, bandwidth, and hardware configurations, the entire service release process varies.

I tested 89 building models with different levels of precision. The whole release process took about 1 minute for reference.

Web Front-end Access Service

ArcGIS Scene Viewer must support WebGL desktop Web browsers. WebGL is a web technical standard used to render 3D images.

PointHereTo test whether WebGL is enabled in the browser, open get.webgl.org. To solve WebGL-related problems, visit WebGL.Troubleshooting.

ArcGIS Scene Viewer supports these web browsers:Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11, Safari. Chrome is Version 47.0.2526.111 m (64-bit ).

It seems pretty good.

Indicates that the Feature Layer of a tree can be modified and rendered on the Web end.

Change the basemap and perform several Slide operations.

It was just this weekend that I was idle. I could test it in a continuous period and the results were satisfactory. I will test the large data volume and update it later.
