Today the system from the Debian-7.1 changed to 7.6, so the trouble will come with it ~
Debian-7.6 eclipse-4.4 crash is due to the current version of the GLIBC library is less than 2.14, and many software needs glibc >= 2.14 to run. The tragedy is that there are only 2.13 versions of glibc in the Debian repository, so it is not possible to upgrade through Apt-get. But there are other ways to let Eclipse run:
1. Add parameters before-vmargs in Eclipse.ini
--launcher. Gtk_version
2. Set the SWT_GTK environment variable to 0.
Note that if you add eclipse to the dash Quick start, you have to modify the system-level environment variables to take effect, and only change the ~/.BASHRC to start eclipse normally from the command line. It is recommended to modify/etc/profile directly and add:
Export swt_gtk3=0
At this point eclipse can run happily again ~
