I have used Mac OS for a few years, and I have never tried to install Mac OS with a USB flash drive. Recently, because I went back to school and put the CD at home, I also needed to reinstall the system, I used a USB flash drive when I borrowed a CD-Rom and it was fruitless (I used 13 Tib when my friends were all 15 or 17.
Official start
Preparations: an 8 gb usb flash drive, mobile phone memory card + card reader (I am using a card reader ).
First, insert the USB flash disk, open the disk tool (Application-utility), select your USB flash disk, and unmount the partition of the USB flash disk (note that it is unmounted, not released ). Content.
Select the USB flash drive and then click the partition directory.
You can select two partitions for a larger USB flash drive, which can be used to install the system or store files.
Select the partition you want to use to store the disk image, click the option, and then select the guid partition table.
Click "OK" and then partition.
After the partition is completed, load the DMG image of the downloaded Mac OS x, select the image of OS X under the disk tool, and select the recovery tab. Drag the allocated area to the target disk.
Because the downloaded lion DMG image has been deleted, it is replaced by win7. Click OK to wait for the recovery to complete.
After the restoration is completed, the system has loaded and installed the disk.
