The colorful background of the three-dimensional effect composed of Photoshop cubes-PS tutorial

Previously, I introduced how to create a background for a small dot, which is similar to the method used in this tutorial. However, the methods described in this article are more hierarchical and detailed. The author finally incorporates some highlights, which seem simple but add a lot of color to the screen. Final effect



1. open Photoshop and create a new document. I am using 2560x1440 pixels and can use it as a wallpaper. Fill the background with dark gray (#181818 ).


2. add another layer and fill it with a dark yellow, red, and blue gradient. Use a 30 degree angle. Then change the hybrid mode to overlay.



3. add a new layer and remove the filter> rendering> cloud. Make sure that your background color and foreground color are black and white respectively. Go to filter> blur> Gaussian blur. Use 70 to 100, and then change the blending mode to fade.



4. now let's use a paint brush to create a hexagonal shape. Select the polygon tool (U) to create a black hexagonal shape. Go to layer> layer style> stroke. Use a size of 7 pixels, inside the shape, and then DeMix options: custom, change the fill opacity to 50%. To create a brush, just press Command (mac)/Control (pc) to click the thumbnail of the hexagonal layer, and then edit> define the brush. Name your paint brush and return to the design document.




5. go to the window> paint brush. Select the dynamic shape, and the size jitter is 40%. Other values remain unchanged. Then select the distribution, and select the two axes, with the value 700%. The last thing here is smooth, with 40% opacity jitter and other values kept as 0%.



6. add a new layer and combine the new layer. the layer will be in a folder. Change the mixed mode of the folder to fade. Use the brush tool (B) to select the hexagonal brush we created earlier, and then draw the hexagonal brush on the layer with white.



7. filter removal> blur> Gaussian blur. Use a radius of 2.0 pixels.


8. copy the layer, and then remove the filter> blur> Gaussian blur, but this time the radius is 5 pixels. Change the fill opacity to 60%. Use the eraser tool (E) to erase some areas that may become too bright.
