The Java Virtual machine solution for failed to create at eclipse startup

Sometimes when you install Eclipse, the startup encounters a problem like "failed to create the Java Virtual machine".

(a) Baidu a bit found the main solution is as follows:

Steps to resolve:

1. Open the configuration file Eclipse.ini of the Eclipse decompression directory;

2. Find

--launcher. Xxmaxpermsize

256M

And instead

--launcher. Xxmaxpermsize

128M

Note: This value corresponds to two places, that is, you need to modify two places.

3, save, start eclipse;

Explanation of the problem:

The Eclipse configuration file will run in the method area (Perm Gen) The maximum value is set to 256M or even greater, in fact, 128M is sufficient; the Eclipse runtime checks the memory condition to ensure it works correctly, but the native memory is low, so the warning does not work. At this point, set the MaxPermSize to 128M. That is equivalent to lowering the operating threshold.

(b) I have encountered the solution to the problem:

It is possible that the above method will solve the problem, but the eclipse I used was the decompression version, and I did not find the configuration file Eclipse.ini in the Eclipse decompression directory at all.

According to the above solution tips, suspicion is that the computer memory consumption, can be browser, other memory-intensive software to check the memory share of the computer through the key to 30% or so,

Then start eclipse (the computer is a 32-bit system with only 3G of memory). May be a workaround.
