Tip: It is risky to modify the registry. Proceed with caution.
I don't know what's going on. In my computer, all the word document icons cannot be displayed normally and cannot be opened. How can I fix them?
Of course it can be fixed. Take Word 2007 and Word 2010 as examples. Open the registry editor and find and delete the following three key values:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT //. docx
KEY_CLASSES_ROOT // Word. Document.12
HKEY_CURRENT_USER // Software // Microsoft // Windows // CurrentVersion // Explorer // FileExts //. docx
Delete the preceding key values and find the Microsoft Office installer. After running the command, select "change" & rarr; "repair". Then, follow the prompts to complete the repair step by step. Then, restart the computer to make the change take effect.
If the word file cannot be opened, it may be broken. We can try the following methods to solve the problem.
Manually open the recovery file
When you restart Word after a serious fault or similar problem, the program automatically restores any files. If the file is not opened for some reason, you can open it as follows:
1. On the "common" toolbar, click the "open" button;
2. In the folder list, locate and double-click the folder that stores the recovery file. For Windows 2000/XP operating systems, this location is usually the "C:/documents and settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Word" folder; for Windows 98/Me operating systems, this location is usually the "C:/Windows/Application Data/Microsoft/Word" folder;
3. Click "all files" in the "file type" box ". The names of each recovered file are displayed as "automatic recovery" to save the file name "and the program file extension (Figure 2 );
4. Click the name of the file to be restored, and then click open.
