Note: Before calling the value of Currval, you must first call the value of Nextval, otherwise you will get an error, as shown in:
From this we can see that the value of nextval continues to increase when multiple calls are made
In the we can see whether the value of Currval is called more than once in a session, or as the current value of the session itself.
So the value of nextval is incremented once per call, or the value of Currval is called the same as the current value of the session itself.
