Two ways to get the number of data bars in a database in PHP

One is the traditional use of mysql_num_rows () to calculate

$sql = "SELECT * from News"; $res =mysql_query ($sql); $number =mysql_num_rows ($sql);

　　

There is also the use of mysql_result ()

$sql = "SELECT count (*) from news"; $res =mysql_query ($sql); $number =mysql_result ($res, 0,0);

　　

The mysql_result () function is used to obtain the results from the database.

Methods are as follows

$sql = "SELECT * from News"; $res =mysql_query ($sql); mysql_result ($res, 0, 1)

　　

If the mysql_result ($res, 0, 1) is output via the Echo () function;

You get the data from the first row in the data list and the second column.
