Ubuntu Java Development Environment build (eclipse)

Recently moved the work environment to Ubuntu Kylin, found that the Java environment below is still very convenient. However, also experienced a number of groping process, so the composition to remember.

One/pre-development preparation

Installing the System/configuration software source, this part of the content is nothing to note.

II/install JDK

The Ubuntu Software Center did not find the official sun jdk, only openjdk. In fact, they are compatible, but openjdk than the former version will lag. Now it is August 30, 2015, OPENJDK can only support to JDK7, and the official JDK has reached 8. If you have to install the official JDK, you can manually download the installation at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html. I am lazy, I pretend to be openjdk.

III/install Eclipse

Ibid., search and install in Ubuntu Software Center.

No. Yes, you read it right! After you install the JDK and IDE under Linux, you can use it without having to configure it like Windows.

V/Configure Eclipse

Of course you can copy and import the following configuration from win. However, the test finds that the auto-prompt function fails when this is done. See the next section for a workaround.

5.1 Automatic Hints

Find content Assist, auto-activation triggers for Java, editor, Java, window, preferences BC ", and save.

Preferences, general, export, File--Save the current configuration to the desktop.

Using Gedit to open the profile, search for ". ABC" in the location, change the key value to ". Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" and save.

Import the configuration file, general-Preferences, import, file.

Note: The online section of the tutorial in the revision of the key value, the 26 uppercase letters are also added, however, the personal feeling that there is no egg, capital letters in the preferences will not be displayed.

5.2 Configuring fonts

Courier New feels good in the Windows platform, but looks uncomfortable under Ubuntu, so choosing Deja Vu Sans Mono makes it feel good ~ but there is no default under Windows.

Six/automatic Prompt failure resolution

The specific phenomenon is that when you enter the first letter, you will be prompted with some keywords that are no longer prompted when you continue typing. The workaround is simple:

Find Content Assist-I, Editor, Java, window, preferences

Step two: Find "Java proposals" in "Default proposal kinds" and tick it.

Now the automatic prompt should have been good, quickly try it!

Note: This option does not need to be checked under the Windows platform, why is it necessary to check it here? If you know the answer, please tell me.

Now everything OK, save the configuration file to make a backup, if you re-install eclipse, you do not have to manually configure it again ~
