The importance of data is unnecessary. If you have ever experienced data loss, you will understand it. Do not trust your server, your computer, or any data storage device. Only by constantly making multiple backups can we feel at ease.
Deja Dup is a program that can help you back up data and encrypt them. It is also easy to use. It also provides the scheduled backup function and so on.
Some features of Deja Dup:
- Supports local backup and remote backup, including backup to Amazon S3 ECs
- Encrypt and compress data
- Incremental Backup allows you to reply from any data volume
- Timed backup
If you are using Ubuntu 11.10 or later, Deja Dup is included in your system. You can find it in system settings.
When running Deja Dup, you can see that there are two big buttons on the Deja Dup interface, they are "restore the previous backup data" and "set backup Parameters ".
You can see from the settings that the default is to back up the Home folder, but it does not include the recycle bin or download folder, you can click the + and-buttons on the page to change them and set the folder to be backed up.
After selecting the folder, you can set the location of the backup file, whether to back up the file locally or remotely.
Then you can click "Back Up Now" to generate the first backup immediately.
You can also create a password for your backup to prevent other losses caused by data theft.
After the backup is complete, Deja Dup will tell you that the backup has been completed.
