With the popularization of broadband and high-performance PCs, the establishment of personal network radio stations is no longer a dream. Currently, popular network radio stations are generally based on MP3/real/Windows Media Encoding. Among these encoding methods, Windows Media is undoubtedly dominant, and the system resources are relatively small, low Bit Rate, sound quality is high, and it is easy to learn and use at the same time. The playing software of the client is Windows Media Player for every PC installed with windows. When the audio source is collected in real time and multiple encoding rates of 12%, and kbps are used simultaneously, the CPU usage of the athlonxp1600 + system is between and ~ In the range of 20%.
1. Set up a radio station
First, the establishment of the station requires some related hardware:
1. CPU with strong floating point computing capability. Since most PCs used to establish personal radio stations are used by netizens, to ensure that you have sufficient CPU capacity to perform other operations during broadcast, select a CPU with powerful floating point computing capability. Generally, your CPU clock speed must be above MHz, an athlonxp or P4 high-performance computer enables you to broadcast CPU resources at the same time.
2. A sound card. Although almost all sound cards can be used for digital broadcasting, we still emphasize low CPU usage. As a server, releasing more CPU resources can provide better services. Although many people suspect the sound quality of the innovative sound card, live! And audigy sound quality is very good. In addition, live consumes a considerable amount of CPU resources, but audigy is driven by itsProgramIt occupies a large amount of memory, so that its system resource usage is not as good as live. Of course, even if the onboard AC '97 can also be used to build a radio station, I will explain how to build a radio station with the onboard AC '97 in this article.
3. Good upstream bandwidth. Although any bandwidth can be used to build a digital station, it is necessary to build a practical station with sufficient uplink bandwidth. The 64 Kbps WMA can provide MP3 sound quality close to kbps, and the bandwidth of KB can meet the listening needs of 8-bit listeners for 64 Kbps WMA. If you have 10 Mbps of bandwidth and provide 40 kbps of stereo broadcast, enough to build a small digital radio station. An Internet IP address is also involved. If the PC you use to establish a radio station does not have an independent Internet IP address, it cannot broadcast the whole Internet. For more information about how Intranet radio stations can broadcast to the Internet, see the appendix.
In terms of software, we need:
1. Windows Media Encoder 9.0, a Windows Media Encoder provided by Microsoft. This software not only provides the Windows Media Encoding capability, but also provides the server function for building digital stations. The operation is very simple.Article.
2. Many music files saved in digital audio format. It can be MP3, MPC, WMA, ape, WAV or CD, or even VCD or DVD. Of course, if you want to, you can broadcast it through a microphone or linear input.
After installing Windows Media encoder9.0 and starting it, the setting wizard is automatically displayed. Select broadcast live events and click OK:
Next, select the audio device for the recording. Generally, the default value is enough. If you have multiple sound cards, select one with better recording quality (which one is better than others)
Next, select the broadcast method. Because we use our PC as the Broadcast Server, we select "auto encoder pull transfer" (this is a strange name ............) :
Here, we select the Windows Media Service port, that is, the port for your PC to broadcast externally. The default software port is port 8080. We do not recommend this setting, click "find available ports" to select a port that is not currently in use. You can constantly press "Search for available ports" to select a relatively easy-to-remember number, or enter a port number that you like (because the port may already be occupied, when you start broadcasting, the software will prompt that your port is in use. At this time, you can only select another port ):
The author chooses "Multi-bit rate encoding (CBR)" 135, 70, and 54kbps to adapt to the bandwidth of more users. Of course, the more complicated the encoding, the higher the CPU usage, the station masters should adjust their own according to their own machine performance and bandwidth. If the bandwidth is relatively narrow, set it to a single code with a low bit rate, otherwise, the client will load frequently.
In general, the functions of archiving files are not commonly used, because all the music we use for broadcast is in the form of files in our own hands. However, if you are a radio host in person or you are performing live show in person, it is very attractive to save the recording as a souvenir. Select "ARCHIVE broadcast copies to files" and select a directory (Ensure that the hard disk partition of the directory has enough space to store the Recording files.
The following information can be fully customized by you without any special requirements, because it is your own radio station. Of course, I think you will not miss this opportunity to show your personality :)
Okay. The basic settings are till now. Do not select 'click done to start broadcasting. 'As we have some other settings to do next. Click Finish ".
OK. This is the official Windows Media Encoder interface. You can view the specific server status on each tab. The encoder has not been started yet:
Click View-audio panel to open the audio control panel:
Click "mixer" on the audio panel ":
In the pop-up "Recording Control", click "option-attribute"
Now we can see that there are a series of options in "show the following volume control". Here I chose "stereo mixer", because of the different sound cards, the option name varies on your system. Select an option that allows you to record all the sounds of the system. That is to say, this option is not a very clear option (for example, the stereo mixer here does not describe what the device is, not as obvious as mic ). If you cannot find this option, please update your audio card driver. The author's onboard ac'97 has this option. Most sound cards support all the sounds of the collection system.
Well, the current "Recording Control" is like this. Please note that on this panel, the options "stereo mixer", "mic", and "Auxiliary" on the right are "Single-choice". That is to say, you can only select one option. We will select the "stereo mixer" that we have previously found ", that is, the option for recording all sounds of the system.
With the above settings, you can now click Start encoding to start broadcasting. At this time, the audio you play with any player will be broadcast externally through your personal radio station, here, I use foobar2000 as a player. foobar2000 occupies a small amount of resources and supports many audio formats. Ape, MPC, MP3, and even WMA can all be supported through the latest plug-ins, sound quality is also quite good, it is recommended to use. Of course, you can use Winamp and other players. Any sound you hear on your PC will be played out, so you have full freedom to choose the player.
You can click "file -- save" to save the current settings to the file. That is to say, you can actually make several different settings and save them as files. What kind of settings do you want to call next time, you only need to open the corresponding setting file.
Now, for example, your public IP address is ***. ***. ***. * **, the custom broadcast port is ####, so you only need to tell your friends to use IE to open MMS ://***. ***. ***. * **: ####, you can hear your broadcast!
3. Establish a "Source" radio station
Although the real-time coding radio station has good flexibility, it also has great disadvantages. The sound of your operations, including QQ, MSN, and so on, will be broadcast out, affecting the broadcast quality, therefore, you have to disable these sounds. At the same time, if your friend asks for a song, but you want to listen to other songs, there will be a conflict. At this time, if we use the "Source" method, it is easy to avoid conflict with each other. What's more interesting is that we can use the "Source" method to achieve the effect of the traditional broadcast station host method. ^_^
This time, we select "Custom session" and click "OK.
The current panel looks a bit complicated, with a total of nine tabs, but in fact, "output", "compression", "attribute", "advanced", and so on, we are coding in real time, you have already met, and now you have the ability to customize them. The "video size" is not required. The key here is the "Source" tab, which is the focus below. The "plug-in" tab can provide various audio processing plug-ins, but we do not recommend it. Of course, you can study it yourself. On the "Source" tab, the "source from" option has three options: "device", "file", and "device and file, what looks interesting is "devices and files", but this option is not very useful, because the previous two options can completely replace it.
Select "devices and files" and click the drop-down arrow of "audio". We can see many options, but "multi-channel WAV source" is generally not used, [blank] is useless. If you select [Blank], the software prompts you to select a device or file when you click OK, with this option, we can only add files one by one:
Therefore, if you only play a music file, you can easily add multiple files at a time by selecting "file" and clicking "Browse:
After adding the source, we can see many "sources" on the left. You can select a "Source" and use the up and down arrows next to the "add" button to adjust the source to your desired location, you can also change the name of the source to make it easier to remember. Then we need to set the action after the source end for each source, which is generally set to "scroll to the next source". Of course, you can also set the last source to "scroll to the first source", so that these files can be played cyclically as a whole:
Click Start encoding to broadcast these files. The encoder directly outputs the file encoding. You cannot hear the file playing sound on your PC. At this time, if you are using other players to play the music will not enter the broadcast, So that you listen to the music and do not interfere with each other.
If this is the case, you have to find a file in advance and broadcast it, then the "Source" method is too rigid. In fact, you only need to click "View -- attribute panel" to continue operations on the source that is not currently playing, including adding or deleting the source.
In this case, we can not only add other files, but also add devices as the source. That is to say, after playing a song, we can use the device as the next source, in this way, we can add narration between two songs.
Click "add", select "device", and click Configure. In the "plug-in line" drop-down list on the property page, select the required input device. If you want to implement the host effect, you can select MIC to host the program on the radio station:
Click OK, and then click "application" to make the settings take effect. To use this source, you can use the up and down arrows next to the "add" button to move the selected source (note that the source selected in the "Move right" session attribute is selected here as source 8 ), place it behind a source that is about to be played. Do not forget to click "Apply" to save the settings. Of course, you can directly click the source you want to use or right-click-activate on the "Source" panel on the left.
Of course, if you perform a personal live show, you can use the plug-in to make some modifications to your voice, such as adding ECHO, which allows you to easily achieve the effect of karaoke:
As for how to use it, this is your chance for the radio station director to show his own style. I will not talk about it here.
Iv. Appendix
1. I mentioned in the first part about the problem that intranet users cannot start a station directly. How can I establish a station? In addition to the above, you need your gateway server (which has an independent Internet IP address) to support port ing and map your broadcast port to the gateway port. Generally, port ing can be performed on current small routers or computers with dual NICs installed as gateways. For the router port ing method, refer to the vro instruction manual. The port ing of the Gateway computer is related to the operating system of the computer, such as Windows2000, XP, 2003 port ing can be set in network connection sharing. Some software such as CCProxy also has the port ing function. After the configuration is complete, your broadcast address is the IP address of the MMS: // Gateway: the port opened by the gateway.
2. the "Source" method is reasonable, but the operation is complicated. Real-time broadcast is simple and practical, but real-time broadcast has high requirements on the system, you can select which method to use.
3. If you want to build a long-term radio station, we recommend that you apply for a level 2 domain name to simplify your work. Even if you have a fixed IP address, we recommend that you do this because it is not wise to publish your IP address on the Internet, using a domain name saves you a lot of trouble (although this is not an effective method ).
