Setting up a share may have a negative impact on the security of your computer's data, and you need to balance confidentiality, security, and sharing. For increased security, it is recommended that you use the NTFS disk format and set read and write permissions on the privacy file.
1. Windows 7 System Setup Method:
Select the folder you want to share;
Right-click Folder properties;
Set advanced folder sharing options;
After sharing select security options, add guest permissions;
Sometimes two computers are prompted to enter a password when they access the shared file because the Windows 7 system side does not turn off password-protected sharing, the following is the password-protected sharing method:
Right-click on the Wireless network icon, choose to open the network and Sharing center;
Click Change adapter settings;
Turn off password protection sharing and make sure to exit.
The WIN7 computer's sharing settings are complete, and the shared folder can be accessed from the XP computer side.
2. Windows XP system-side access to the Windows 7 system End method
The first thing to do is set up Windows XP-side file sharing;
Select the view option to uncheck the simple share after the confirmation;
Open the Network Neighborhood;
Now you can see the shared Windows 7 system-side computer, so just open it.
You can now see the Windows 7-side shared files.
