Air allows developers to develop stand-alone applications using HTML, JavaScript, and Flash, while version 2.5 allows developers to develop applications using accelerometers, cameras, videos, microphones, multi-touch, gestures, and geographic location. RIM also launched the Adobe Air version of the BlackBerry Tablet operating system software Development Kit (the BlackBerry tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR), which is now available for download from RIM's website. Since Monday, developers can use the toolkit to develop applications for playbook and submit applications later this year. RIM's playbook tablet computer will be in the U.S. market early next year, starting in the second quarter of 2011, and will continue to be listed in other countries around the world. In addition, the launch of AIR 2.5 allows developers to develop more advanced applications for Tablet PCs, smartphones and computers based on Google Android, Apple iOS, Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
