Banshee v1.9.4 publishes an open source audio player for Linux operating systems

Banshee is an open source code http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/12471.html "> audio player for Linux operating systems. Based on Mono and gtk#, Banshee is encoded using GStreamer multimedia platform and can decode a variety of music formats, including Ogg Vorbis, MP3 and FLAC. Banshee can play, import and burn audio discs and sync music with several portable media players, including Apple's ipod and creative Zen players. Music stored on the ipod can be played directly without being synchronized, and the album cover stored in the Banshee database will be delivered to the ipod.

Banshee is maintained by Aaron Bockover, Alexander Kojevnikov, Bertrand Lorentz, and Gabriel Burt. Over the developers, 130 translators, 6 artists, and countless users and volunteers have to contributed.

The project is started by Aaron in early 2005. It is strongly affiliated with GNOME, the using its infrastructure for Git hosting, issue tracking, mailing lists, and IRC.
