FreeBSD 5.3 Use Geom to create raid

Concat version raid

Concat is not really a raid because there is no performance improvement and no data protection. Simply string the disks together to take advantage of disk space.

The following example will concat the IPSD1,IPSD2 two disk systems

Reset the two disks first

Connect two disks using GCONCAT and name data

Gconcat label-v DATA/DEV/IPSD1/DEV/IPSD2

After using Gconcat, there will be a device named data under/dev/concat, corresponding to the previous command's data name

Format, if you need to close soft-update, just remove-u

Newfs-u/dev/concat/data

Create mount point

Mkdir/data

Hang up the new concat

Mount/dev/concat/data/data

Modify the Fstab to allow the system to reboot and Mount automatically
