RedHat 9.0 Installation Chinput Chinese Input method

1. Download the required files on the Chinput website
Http://www.opencjk.org/~yumj/project-chinput.html

2. In order to complete the installation smoothly, the following software is required:
Latest Version chinput-3.0.2.src.rpm
Unicon Module and Code table section
Additional GNU PTH 1.2 version (HTTP://WWW.GNU.ORG/SOFTWARE/PTH) required

3. Suppose all software is downloaded to/tmp

4. Install input Dictionary
Cd/usr/lib
Tar zxvf/tmp/unicon2-im.tar.gz

5. Install GNU Portable Line Threading
Cd/usr/lib
Tar zxvf/tmp/pth-2.0.0.tar.gz
The/usr/lib/pth-2.0.0 directory will be generated and entered into this directory
Run as follows:
./configure
Make
Make Test
Make install

6. Install Chinput-3.0
Cd/tmp
RPM-IVH/chinput-3.0.2.src.rpm

7. Will generate/usr/lib/chinput
This is the end of the installation

Note:
1.Chinput the last step in the Help on the Web site is to run Chinput. said: Should be started before the application software runs. Set environment variables if necessary:
Export LC_ALL=ZH_CN.GBK (some systems use ZH_CN. GB2312)
Export xmodifiers= @im =chinput (enter server name)

But actually the service has been started automatically with the RPM package installed. Press CTRL should already be able to see the Input Method window.
