FreeBSD is a UNIX operating system based on U.C. http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/33795.html ">berkeley ' 4.4BSD compact release i386 platform and Alpha platform. It is indirectly based on the William Jolitz ' s port of u.c Berkeley ' s net/2 to i386, as 386BSD, although the 386BSD code remains very small. FreeBSD companies, Internet service providers, researchers, computer experts, students, and home users around the world are used for their work, teaching and entertainment.

FreeBSD 8.3 This version supports USB packet filters. The TCP/IP protocol stack now supports pluggable MOD_CC (9) Congestion control frameworks. A Graid (8) Geom class is added to support various BIOS based software RAID controllers. The ZFS subsystem was updated with spa version 28. The Gnome version 2.32.1 and KDE4.7.4 are included.
