Google Chrome, the Chinese name is Google Browser, is an open source web browser developed by Google. The software's code is written based on other open source software, including WebKit and Mozilla, with the goal of improving stability, speed, and security, and creating a simple and efficient user interface. The name of the software comes from the Web browser graphical user interface (GUI), also known as "Chrome."
The beta version of the software, released on September 2, 2008, offers 43 languages and is currently available only for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista platforms and does not support Windows 2000 or earlier versions. Mac OS x and Linux versions are being developed and will be launched later.
The official announcement is scheduled for September 3, 2008 and will be sent to reporters and bloggers with a caricature of the new browser feature and engine, which was drawn by Scott Maikraud Scott McCloud and created in a shared "name-non-commercial-no change to 2.5" Issued under the copyright agreement. As letters sent to Europe were sent early, Philip Lansen, author of the German "Google blogoscoped" blog, Philipp Lenssen, scanned and placed his website on September 1, 2008 after receiving the comics. Google then put the comic on Google Books and Google's Web site, and explained the reasons for early release in its blog.
If you prefer Chrome's blue title bar in XP, and you're using Vista, how do you use the chrome theme in XP? Here's an easy way to do this, with just a few steps and no need to shut down Windows Aero.
First right click on the Chrome shortcut, open Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, change the settings as shown, and note that the compatibility mode is set to Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1) instead of Windows XP. Click "Apply" and close the window, then start Chrome. (See Figure 1)
When you turn on chrome you will find that you can now use the Windows XP theme. And the same approach applies to Windows Live Wave 3 desktop apps, and even in the mode of turning off Aero, they look fine. (See Figure 2)
