IBM, the world's largest computer service provider, has agreed to acquire mobile http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/18122.html, the > Software developer Worklight Company. The company makes software that works on smartphones and tablets.
IBM said in a statement in Tuesday that Worklight software could speed up the transfer of mobile applications to multiple devices and secure access to enterprise information technology systems. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With Worklight software, organizations can write a mobile application that can run on any device. The devices include Apple's iphone, RIM's BlackBerry and mobile phones using Google's Android operating system.
IBM says it plans to buy about 20 billion dollars from 2011 to 2015. IBM has acquired more than 100 companies since 2003. IBM last year acquired companies like Tririga, I2, Algorithmics, Q1 Labs and Curam software to expand the "smart business" effort while expanding offerings to corporate users
