U.S. time March 16, IBM announced that its public cloud officially provides software development and testing services. At the same time, IBM has announced a number of cloud partners from all directions, cloud management software vendors Rightscale and Kaavo, security vendors Navajo Bae, performance monitoring software manufacturer Appfirst, application development manufacturer AVIARC, Corent and WaveMaker. For public cloud development and testing services, IBM employs Red Hat virtualization technology to support SuSE Linux and Java for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, novell.
IBM uses a resilient cloud infrastructure resource pool for development and testing because it does not need to bind a fixed set of machines to work, so it costs much to save it. But in fact, in traditional ways, these machines may be idle for most of their time, resulting in wasteful investment. In addition, based on cloud development, resources can be invoked on demand, making programmers more flexible in their work.
The service will be launched in the United States and Canada in the second quarter of this year, before being released in other countries and regions. Its rivals include public cloud infrastructure providers such as Amazon and Rackspace.
According to industry analysts, IBM's competitive advantage is its long-term accumulation in the enterprise market, such as its rational software development tools have a wide range of applications.
IBM also announced rational Software delivery services based on cloud Computing 1.0.
