MLDonkey is an open source, free, cross-platform, multi-protocol peer-to-peer sharing software. was initiated by Fabrice Le Fessant and Simon Patarin from January 2002. Originally a clone of an electric Donkey (eDonkey2000) under UNIX and Linux. It was later ported to the http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/11691.html ">macosx and Windows platform." Follow the GPL protocol. When originally released, it had only Linux edonkey protocol versions. It now supports multiple Peer-to-peer protocols and can run on Unix-like systems, Mac OS X, Windows, and MorphOS. It was written using the objective caml-based language developed by the French National Institute of Information and Automation (INRIA), while some parts of the C language and assembly language code were used to ensure their high efficiency.
MLDonkey full or incomplete support for file-sharing networks or protocols are:
Edonkey Network Overnet Network BitTorrent FastTrack Network Kad network Directconnect Network Http/ftp Parochial Magnetic link Gnutella Network
Starting with 2.9.0, support for Gnutella and GNUTELLA2 is no longer used by default. However, it can still be set appropriately in the configuration file to enable MLDonkey to support the Gnutella and GNUTELLA2 protocols.
Users can choose from a MLDonkey user interface or remote administration (either a Web browser, a remote login, or a third-party graphical user interface application). MLDonkey has Sancho and many other graphical user interface clients to choose from.
Because it can be connected to multiple servers at the same time, the ability to find sources in the like network is more prominent, which is one of the reasons for its speed. MLDonkey also supports two Kademlia networks without servers, the overnet of electric donkeys and the Kad of mules, and the source of MLDonkey is not compatible with emule source exchange.
MLDonkey can use different network protocol connections at the same time. It can download fusion file segments from different network protocols. However, this feature is still in the pilot development phase. MLDonkey is run in a terminal session, and can save memory and CPU use without the need for a graphical user interface environment. MLDonkey can be run with some editable configuration files, or you can choose to use a more user-friendly user interface as a setup interface.
