1. Release the control of the boot sector to the operating system to be uninstalled and leave control to the other operating system management.

2. Remove the operating system options that you want to uninstall from the options in the multiple operating system boot menu.

3. Remove the system and release the remaining space.

Uninstalling Windows multiple operating systems

To remove the win 2000/xp/2003 from multiple systems, leaving the win9x/me system, you can use the following methods as appropriate.

1. If the installation partition where the multiple operating systems are located is a FAT32 partition, you can delete the win2000/xp/2003 windows or Winnt, program files, and documents and settings directories directly under Win9x/me. Then remove the following files from C disk: NTLDR, Ntdetect.com, boot.ini, Ntbootdd.sys (if you have SCSI devices) and Bootfont.bin, and then boot the computer with the Windows 9x/me boot CD. Execute command: "A:\sys C:" Can completely uninstall WinXP.

Tip: Alternatively, you can start the computer with the Win98 boot disk, run the format command to quickly format the hard disk partition where the win2000/xp/2003 is located, such as A:\>format d:/q, and then run the SYS C: command to make the hard drive bootable.

2. If win2000/xp/2003 uses an NTFS partition, you can start the computer using the Win98 boot disk and run the FDISK command, although Fdisk does not recognize the NTFS partition where win2000/xp/2003 resides, showing it as an unknown partition ( Unknown partition), but we can still remove the partition and then repartition it.

Unloading win9x/me in multiple systems

1. If your win9x/me is installed in a partition other than C, you can directly format the partition where the win9x/me resides.

2. If your win9x/me is installed in C, you can not format, you can only access the win2000/xp/2000 system, the C-disk windows, program Files directory and the root directory of all Win98 boot files, including Io.sys, Msdos.sys, Command.com, Autoexec.bat, Config.sys, and so on are all deleted. Be aware that you do not delete ntldr, Ntdetect.com, Boot.ini, Ntbootdd.sys, and Bootfont.bin files.

3. After formatting or deleting win9x/me files, to cancel the boot menu of the dual system, we also need to modify the Boot.ini file, enter "attrib c:\boot.ini-r-s-h" in the "Start" menu → "Run" and return to remove Boot.ini file system, read-only, hidden properties, and then into C disk, double hit open boot.ini file, delete "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \windows=" Microsoft Windows/fastdetect or multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \windows= "Microsoft WINDOWS ME"/fastdetect "This line and save the changes. Next, enter "attrib C:\Boot.ini r +s panes" in "Run" and return to the system, hidden, and read-only properties.
