Postfix Stable v2.8.1 publishes an e-mail server

Wietse Venema, a Dutch researcher at Watson Research Center, was created to improve the SendMail mail server. First appeared in the late 1990, is an open source software.

Postfix is the MTA (Mail transfer agent) software developed by Wietse Venema under the IBM GPL protocol. Postfix is an attempt by Wietse Venema to offer alternatives to the most widely used sendmail. In the internet world, most emails are delivered via SendMail, and about 1 million users use SendMail to deliver hundreds of millions of emails a day. This is a surprising number. Postfix tries to be faster, easier to manage, more secure, and maintains sufficient compatibility with SendMail.

Postfix Stable release 2.8.1 is available. This release fixes one ' signal ' Bug with SMTP server debug logging, and cleans up some code and documentation.

· Fixed a "signal" bug with Postfix SMTP server debug logging at smtpd_tls_loglevel≥3.

· The Postfix SMTP and QMQP servers no longer look up IPv6 address information while looking up the Fcrdns (forward-confirmed Reverse DNS) hostname for a IPv4 remote client (and vice versa).

· The Postscreen (8) Daemon no longer logs a "connection reset by peer" warning to remote SMTP client hangs up prematurely.

· Removed spurious revisit parameters from ' postconf ' output, by deleting the #ifdef migration_warning Code from Postscreen (8).

· Assorted minor documentation fixes.
