Virtualization--The inevitable trend of future cloud platforms

What new content can we expect from the next generation of cloud computing platforms? What other features or performance are available to the next generation platform, or are some of the earlier competitors already offering? The best part of the cloud computing platform we have now is to eliminate the need for businesses that want to own and run their own hardware. Unfortunately, you still need some hardware knowledge to properly manage your services. Now the provider asks you to add a "server" or "instance" with specific hardware specifications. They have different "bottlenecks" or server types in the specs you can set, and ultimately you need to know what kind of hardware your system needs. Automated systems can increase or decrease your server, but not enough capacity. Platform-Service (PaaS) cloud providers are beginning to grow in popularity, but at least for now, the limitations are too great. Most PAAs options also require you to use a specific programming language or a specific toolset. The next generation of cloud computing platforms needs to stay away from traditional server models. We are beginning to see that the most recent PAAs services provide the service blocks you need to build your application, such as databases, search systems, and so on, but at the operational application level, you typically still need to run the server. This layer should be handled by the service provider, not the developer.
In the future, we expect virtual servers to automatically extend hardware based on specific use cases. No need to identify the number of independent servers you need to have CPU, RAM, etc. instead you should be able to build the application and run it on a single virtual server, using the CPU, RAM, or disk space needed to expand on demand. We see that VMware's "hot migration" now has a similar function, but this feature has not yet migrated to the cloud. As network technology continues to accelerate, we can see this kind of technology extending to the cloud computing platform over the next few years. This eliminates the need to start and stop a personal server altogether.
