For more information about dual-system-ubuntu-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application, see the following. My original system is xp, and I want to create a new small disk for ubuntu, But I encountered a problem when I split the disk.
I originally had four disks, four of which were primary partitions: C: FAT32, D, E, and F. They were all NTFS and their sizes were 20 GB and 90.90.90G, respectively.
When I split the disk, I deleted the f disk and created a new disk of 70 GB, and the remaining 20 GB was usable. I was told that ubuntu could be installed in an unusable area of 20 GB, I couldn't see it on my computer, but when I tried ubuntu, the installation system said there was no root directory, which made me re-partition. I am confused. Please give advice from the master.
P.S.: all four of my disks are primary partitions.
Question: What is the difference between fat32 and ntfs as the system disk, as well as the relationship and difference between the primary partition and the extended partition and the logical partition? Thanks again.
