1. Install ubuntu-system-panel
Open a terminal
Install Subversion:
Sudo apt-get install subversion
Download the ubuntu-system-panel source code:
Mkdir-p ~ /Downloads/SVN
Cd ~ /Downloads/SVN
Svn checkout http://ubuntu-system-panel.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ ubuntu-system-panel
Install ubuntu-system-panel:
Cd ubuntu-system-panel
./Usp_update install fresh
If you are an X86_64 system, after that, you need to run the following command:
Sudo cp/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/usp/plugins/_ keybind64.so _ keybinder. so
Run: killall gnome-panel. This will make your panel disappear once, but don't worry. You have installed ubuntu-system-panel and can use it.
