Oracle multi-field max/min Function

We know that max or min is used for finding the maximum and minimum values in a column;

You can use greatest and least to calculate the maximum and minimum values for multiple columns and fields (not sure the number of fields). You can input any field to calculate the maximum value horizontally, for example:

SQL> select greatest (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) from dual;

GREATEST (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

-------------------------------

6

SQL> select least (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) from dual;

LEAST (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

-------------------------------
