Vim is well-known and well-deserved. Although the built-in vimtutor teaching material can teach you some very basic usage and let you know how to edit a file, what if you want to be as proficient as the legendary vim master?
Through simple Google search, you can find a lot of good articles on how to learn vim. for example, there are a lot of very good videos in vimcasts, however, these textbooks are not the most direct ways to help you master vim. You may be able to learn some very interesting techniques, but how can you ensure that you can remember how to use them for a long time? So what you really need is a vim learning courseware!
Vim learning courseware consists of a large number of learning cards in the form of text, but it contains some vim commands for easy control of these cards. In addition, because this courseware is placed in vim, you can easily test any command on the card.
Here is an example of vim learning courseware running with vim. When this file is loaded, it will convert vim into a vim learning lab. This type of file consists of two parts. The first part is some vimscripts, which will be executed when you load these files. They will create some keyboard commands for you to easily move these cards by queue.
The second part is the teaching material itself, which is divided into "learning" and "already meeting. (That is, when you are familiar with some knowledge and do not need to learn any more, you can move them to the 'already Meeting' queue and put them for future use ). The content in the courseware is very simple, that is, some commands and related introduction.
Here is a video demonstration.
The following is a courseware clip:
= Studyciw: change the entire word' without selecting the first letter of a word '. jump to the last modified place g * to search forward g; select g in the modification record, and select = Known * to search forward in the modification record
To start learning, you just need to copy the text content to the vim buffer, save it, and then press "so %" to load it.
Now, tap and move the first card from the top of the queue to the bottom. And then repeat.
In a short time, your vim learning courseware will become a great new knowledge base. You only need to add cards with new techniques.
Check if there are any commands you like in our lab-in-a-file. Are there some very good skills missing? Please let us know in the comment, or fork the gist!
Tip: directly copying a script from a web page to vim will paste a lot of extra blank characters, causing the script to fail to run. In addition, if you are using a Windows system, the script encoding format will also become a problem.
