RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.5x64 Oracle 10g installation record

Finally, Oracle 10 Gb is successfully installed on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.5 x64.

The entire process is recorded as follows:

I. Preparations before RHEL5 Installation

1. Set swap Partition

Oracle 10 Gb installation requires that the swap space be about 2 physical memory. Therefore, linux partitions need to be customized.

Swap space (swap) is generally set to 1 ~ of the physical memory capacity ~ 2 times, the larger the physical memory, the smaller the corresponding swap is generally set to a smaller multiple. For example, 1G memory is set to 2G swap, and 4G memory is set to 6G. Swap (equivalent to windows virtual memory) is not the bigger the better, it is too big, it cannot be used, it is recommended to Cap 8G.

2. install the software package

Select customization. The list of required system components for installing oracle10g is as follows (note that this is not an option. Check that the rpm package in the environment before installing oracle10g will make you dizzy ):

Desktop Environment → GNOME Desktop Environment

Application → graphical Internet, text-based Internet, Editor

Development → development tools, development libraries, and old software development

Server> Server Configuration Tool

Basic System → X Window System, basic, management tool, system tool, and old software support. Select All

3. RHEL5 is case sensitive to English letters

Ii. Installation Process

1. Modify/etc/redhat-release

Run lsb_release-a as the Root user to check the linux version. Modify the version number of the/etc/redhat-release file to 4. The oracle10g supports the maximum RHEL4 version. It will be detected before installation, you can modify it after installing oracle10g.

2. Modify/etc/hosts

Modify 127.0.0.1 in the/etc/hosts file as Root to your static IP address. This will be detected during oracle10g installation.

3. Modify/etc/sysctl. conf

Kernel. shmmni = 4096 # maximum number of shared memory segments of the entire system.

Kernel. sem = 250 32000 100 128 # maximum number of signal objects in each signal object set; Maximum number of signal objects in the system range; Maximum number of operations supported by each signal object; the maximum number of signal objects in the system range.

Fs. file-max = 65536 # maximum number of file handles allowed in the system.

Net. ipv4.ip _ local_port_range = 1024 65000 # IPv4 port range available for applications.

Net. core. rmem_default = 4194304 # default value of the socket receiving buffer size

Net. core. wmem_default = 262144 # maximum size of the socket receiving buffer

Net. core. rmem_max = 4194304 # default value of the socket sending buffer size

Net. core. wmem_max = 262144 # maximum size of the socket sending Buffer

Save and use the/sbin/sysctl-p command to make the settings take effect.

Note: The kernel parameters do not have to be modified. They can be modified based on your actual situation.

4. Create an oracle account

Create an oracle user and a group as the Root user and set a password for the oracle user. Open the terminal and enter the following command:

/Usr/sbin/groupadd oinstall

/Usr/sbin/groupadd dba

/Usr/sbin/useradd-m-g oinstall-G dba oracle

Passwd oracle

5. Account authorization

Open the terminal as Root to create a folder for storing the database and authorize it:

Mkdir-p/oracle/database

Chown-R oracle: oinstall/oracle

Chmod-R 775/oracle
