After I was excited, I immediately went to the source and installed all those compiz fusion things. The effects I had previously thought I could not achieve were coming out immediately. I have been studying these things over the past two days. I have never used them. I have to get used to them.

The first part is of course a theme change, and the glass edge of the window must be. Go to gnome-look and install Emeral Theme of Aque Aero X 10.0, and right-click on Compiz Fusion Icon and Select Compiz in Select Windows Manager. Open "system ==> preferences ==> Advanced Desktop Effects Settings" and set more special Effects, such as 3D cubes and window Effects. According to my usage over the past few days, the special effects here are not too much drag-and-drop on the system like white ones. Unlike in windows, they just use a few beautifying plug-ins, system resources are greatly consumed.

Ubuntu8.04 power management is also very good, because my current fever is relatively large, AMD seems to be relatively hot, previously in windows with RMClock control frequency and voltage, if you do not want to play 3D games, it will definitely turn off. When I first installed Ubuntu, I was also worried about this problem. Later I found that the default powernowd could solve the problem well.

Install sysvutils in the source, and then add the following two lines to the configuration file: sudo gedit/etc/sysfs. conf:

Devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor = ondemand

Devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq = 1600000

In this way, the maximum CPU frequency is set to 1.6 GHZ and the ondemand mode is used to automatically adjust the CPU frequency. I just don't know how to control the voltage, but it also solves my big problem and the machine will not be too hot.

After COMPIZ is started, it is a pity that the video window of the MPLAYER and other programs related to OPENGL 3D acceleration are displayed. The images in these windows are constantly flashing, and we cannot see them any more. However, I set Windows Manager to Metacity in Compiz Fusion Icon. After the COMPIZ effect is disabled, everything is normal. It seems that Compiz conflicts with other 3D programs. I saw an article on the internet saying that the problem with MPLAYER can be solved by patching the source code, re-compiling it, and try again later. Conflicts with other 3D programs/games are probably impossible. Maybe it is a video card driver. After all, my old video card is not supported in the past.
