Ubuntu is an African term, which means "my existence is because of the existence of everyone ". A person with Ubuntu spirit is open-minded, helpful, knowledgeable, and not jealous, because he or she has moderate self-confidence, and this comes from the following understanding: he or she is a bigger whole, when others are hurt or die, this whole disappears when others are tortured or oppressed." --- DesmondTutu. Let's take a look at the beautiful movie tulinux desktop: Why Ubunt?

A person with Ubuntu spirit is open-minded, helpful, knowledgeable, and not jealous, because he or she has moderate self-confidence, and this comes from the following understanding: he or she is a bigger whole, when others are hurt or die, this whole disappears when others are tortured or oppressed." --- Desmond Tutu.
First look at the beautiful Ubuntu Linux Desktop:
Why choose the Ubuntu operating system? I personally like it for the following reasons:
1. Use Open-Source Software (Free Software) instead of private software, not pirated software. This is a conceptual and initial reason for making a choice.
2. Low Probability of poisoning. The virus is not a patent for Windows. If there is no Windows in the world, there is already a computer virus. The virus in Linux also exists, but it is still rare. It takes time for the virus to spread. Pay attention to and promptly update the security software (Avast for Linux is recommended. For many people infected by viruses, this is a very practical reason. Ubuntu attaches great importance to system security. sudo commands are required for all system-related tasks. This method is more secure than the traditional method of managing system administrator accounts.

3. Ubuntu pays great attention to the ease of use of the system. After standard installation is complete, it can be put into use. Simply put, after the installation is complete, users do not need to install browsers, office software, multimedia software and other commonly used software, and generally do not need to download and install drivers for hardware devices such as NICs and sound cards; ubuntu developers work closely with Debian and the GNOME open-source community. The desktop environments of all official versions use the latest GNOME version, which is usually updated in time following the progress of GNOME projects (at the same time, it also provides derivative versions based on desktop environments such as KDE and XFCE. Ubuntu and Debian use the same deb package format and can install most of the software packages compiled for Debian, although they cannot be fully compatible.
After I installed Ubuntu8.10, I was equipped with a GNOME desktop environment, so I had a bunch of application software, including Internet access, office, images, audio and video, commonly used tools, and games. If it is not enough, you can use the "Application -- install/Delete" option to add it. Of course, you can use other methods to install new software.
Office software uses open Office workbooks, text processing, and presentations, which are similar to Microsoft Office and can also be saved as compatible formats, or other common formats (such as CSV, RTF, XML ). In fact, Google Docs and office software are not very important.
I have used Pidgin for chatting and can set up more than 10 chat accounts. I have set up QQ (in linux, eva and luma QQ are also very useful), MSN, and Google Talk, the latter is unsuccessful. But Gtalk is not required for Gmail Talk. Once I set it to QQ on a machine, it may be miserable, but it was set to Gtalk.
Google Gears has a Linux version, and can also use an offline version of Gmail and Google Reader on Ubuntu.
