They prefer to use C shell for users who often execute the shell in chat mode, but for system administrators, they prefer to Bourne Shell as a command file because the Bourne Shell command file is simpler and faster than the C shell command file. - Korn Shell is a superset of the Bourne Shell (superset), developed by David Korn at/T. It adds some features that are more advanced than the C shell. Features of the Korn shell include editable history, aliases, functions, regular expression universal characters (regular expression wildcard), built-in arithmetic, job control, co-processing (coprocessing), and a special debugging function. The Bourne shell is almost completely up-compatible with the Korn shell (upward compatible), so programs developed under the Bourne shell can still be executed on the Korn shell. The default value for the Korn shell hint symbol is also $. The Korn shell used in the Linux system is called Pdksh, which refers to the public Domain Korn shell.
